Birthday Girl!


Jessica is two! Yep, we've had this little angel in our family for two whole years!
We threw her an impromptu party at Grandma's house while we were in Utah. Boy, did this girl get spoiled! The great part about being in Utah is that we can be with both families at the same time...which means double the presents!


One of Jessica's favorite new toys was her shopping cart. She went around Grandma's house and "shopped" out of all of her cupboards!

Unfortunately, Jessica got sick on her actual birthday, so we didn't get to do quite as much as we wanted. We went to Applebee's for lunch. This is Jessica, casually taking yet another birthday call.

They came and sang to her at Applebee's and brought ice cream. Jessica was enthralled with the singing...and a little scared! But she loved the ice cream!


All day we were telling her it was her birthday, but all she was concerned about was when she would get cake. So back at home we finally had cake and opened more presents.

This was actually taken today at a Veteran's Appreciation fair in Tucson. I just thought it was cute.

Happy belated birthday, Jessica! Reading this made me wonder what on earth it will be like to have a two year old around. :) Also, what is that Learning Fun board in the background in one of the pics?

I am finally blogging about our big trip to Hawaii last month. It was our 3rd anniversary and our dear friends, the Barnums, said we could come visit them anytime we wanted....so we did! Here are a lot of pictures, in no particular order: On the actual day of our anniversary, April 19th, Hank and I left the baby with a sitter and hit the town by ourselves. Since I wasn't a fan of the whole snorkling thing, we took a submarine ride to get a good view of the sea life. Yes, that is a real sea turtle in the real ocean, 100 ft underwater. I snapped this picture out my window. The view of Waikiki from our sub before we went under. The flag at the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. So Sleepy . . .

So, we may be terrible parents, but we thought this was so funny. Jessica wouldn't take an afternoon nap today and by dinnertime she was exhausted. She was so tired that she couldn't even chew her food. The best part was that Hank could not stop laughing at her and it was keeping her awake. This video was much longer, but I cut it down...because watching a baby fall asleep may not be as interesting to you as it was to us.
