August

August has been the busiest month ever. I've had tons to blog about, but I haven't had any time to do it. Hank and I both work during the week and then we've been out of town about every weekend. I figure I better get some traveling in before I'll never be able to travel again. I will slowly but surely get you caught up on everything. I took lots of pictures this month. But for now, I'll just give you a quick rundown. We went to Panama, Hank had a photo shoot, we babysat at a ranch in Carmel, I got my hair cut, Hank knitted a baby wardrobe, I went to a Cookie Lee convention in Anaheim, I planned 2 activities for church, I wrote 3 childrens stories, and we are going back to Disneyland this weekend. Stay tuned for the full story...

Panama

Well, this is a little belated, but we went to Panama last weekend. It was so fun! These are the Castillos - Hank's favorite people in the world. He taught them on his mission and they were nice enough to let us stay in their home, drive us around all weekend, and cook us delicious food. This is my new friend Rosi. She was so sweet and she spoke English! Hank wanted me to learn Spanish so no one really spoke English around me, but when I really needed to understand something Rosi would translate for me. (Check out my super-swollen feet!) We went to a cultural dance celebration with President Monson presiding. It was really cool. When we got home Rosi dessed me up in her authentic Panamanian costume. That headdress was so heavy! It was after midnight, but it was still about 80 degrees and that dress was hot! This is the beautiful Panama City, Panama LDS Temple. There were tons of people there and Hank recognized a lot of people from his mission.

What's Up?

So, since we live so very far away from everyone, I thought you might want to know what we do on a daily basis. Here's our life in a nutshell, in no particular order: Hank is going to school at the Defense Language Institute for the Army. He spends 8 hours a day in class learning Arabic. He is loving it. He is the only one in the entire school with a 4.0 gpa. That's my man! I work part time at the Monterey Public Library as a page and a library assistant. That consists of putting away books and checking in and out books. I really like the job, but with my growing belly it's getting harder. We go to (the LDS) church every Sunday in the Monterey Ward. We havea lot of great friends there. Hank teaches 11-12 yr old primary and is the 11 yr old scout leader. I am an Activity Days leader for the 8-12 yr old girls. I am taking a Hula Dancing class which is really fun. It's quite a workout! We have our one and only performance next week. I am also in a walking grou
