Clubhouse Jessica

Image
Jessica is at my feet all day, everyday. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but when I looked down the other day to find that she wasn't there, I got a little excited. I went around the house looking for her and I heard her sweet little voice singing. I went in her room and found her in a corner behind the bassinet. She had made herself a little clubhouse! She had brought some toys and books back there. She was relaxing in the Boppy with her feet propped up on the wall. So cute! I told my mom about it and she said I used to find little hiding places when I was her age, too. Of course, as soon as I went in to take her picture she decided to come out and follow me around again, but it gives me hope that she will get more independent someday.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Since V-Day was on a Sunday this year, we went out to celebrate the night before. We got a babysitter (woohoo!) and went out for an early dinner to Daisy Mae's Steakhouse. It's kind of a hole-in-the-wall joint here in Sierra Vista, but we had eaten there five years before, so it was kind of romantic to reminisce. They even sat us at the same table as last time! Then we headed to Bisbee, kind of a hippie town tucked away in the mountains. We went to their annual Chocolate Tasting Festival in the historic library. Heavenly! Sunday, we started out our day with our traditional Valentine's Breakfast. My mom always makes a big breakfast for V-Day...so I do too! We just had waffles with strawberries and whipped bream, sausage and bacon (I splurged and bought really expensive bacon for Hank and I even liked it!), and yogurt and granola parfaits. Simple, yet delicious! After the baby went to bed we had a little romantic snack while we watched a movie. So fun! Hank was so

Our little Jessica is definitely a Daddy's Girl. She wants to be just like him...as evidenced by her taste in footwear. Hank got voted the instructor of the month for his course here on Ft. Huachuca! He is an awesome teacher and all of his students really look up to him. The reward for his acheivement is that he gets to park right up front in the "Instructor of the Month" parking space. Unfortunately, he's taking a class all month on the other side of the post, so he will never get to take advantage of his awesome parking spot. Thank you Oma and Opa Tolman for the super cute gifts! Jessica loves helping Daddy with all his projects around the house.
