My Last Day at the Library

Image
Well, today was my last day working at the Monterey Public Library. Happy and sad. I am so ready to be done working. It has been harder and harder to move around and I'm exhausted by the end of the day. But I am really going to miss the people I worked with and the nice environment. I'm definitely glad that I worked there while we've been here in Monterey. See how bright and happy it is in that place? This is Katie, my nicest boss ever. I'll miss you!

My Library Friends are the Best!

Image
Last week my wonderful friends at the library threw me a beautiful shower. I was amazed at how generous they were. We had a fancy dinner and a few tasteful games. I tell ya, being pregnant is fun! This is Joanne, our awesome hostess - she really knows how to throw a party! Here are a few of the guests. We had drinks and hors d'oeuvres on the patio before dinner. Even Hank was invited to the shower! He had a lot of fun - we tried not to make it too girly for him.

33 weeks!

So, I've been promising another profile shot of my ever-growing belly. Yes, I know, I'm getting big. This is the new outfit I bought yesterday. It's sure a moral-booster to wear something that actually fits. Oh, yeah, and here's my new haircut.

Family Baby Shower

Image
Last weekend I went up to Utah for the last time before the baby's born. My mom threw me the cutest baby shower. I had a lot of my family and Hank's family there. I only have 6 weeks left - can you believe it?! While I was there I took Jessica up to the Cookie Lee showroom and signed her up as a consultant. Yay! She is going to be great at selling this jewelry (she already has more bookings than me!). It was so nice to see all of my family again...and have them see my huge belly for the first and last time. This is me surveying all my loot after the shower. (Sorry the pic is so dark)

Family Matters

On our way home from San Diego we stopped in Anaheim again and had lunch with Hank's cousins Lance and Jessica and their darling little girl, Teagan. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe. It was so fun to see them and have a chance to catch up. Hank decided that Jessica and I should become best friends, and I agree.

Goodbye Barnums

Image
Our good friends, the Barnums are moving. They got stationed in Hawaii - good for them, sad for us. So, for Labor Day weekend we took one last trip with them to Disneyland. Mike and Chrissy have been so much fun to get to know. We wish them the best of luck. Most of all I think we'll miss sweet little Joshua We also drove down to San Diego and saw the Temple. It was beautiful. Check out the awesome picture we got of the angel Moroni. Hank and I drove around for a while and saw some of the places in Southern California where I grew up. It was a fun trip down memory lane.

NCO of the Quarter!

Image
Hank was awarded by the Naval Academy Alumni Association as NCO (non-commissioned officer) of the Quarter here at DLI. He didn't even know that he had been nominated for it. He got to stand up in front of the thousands of other soldiers and be recognized for "exceeding the standards of excellence" by the Colonel. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be there because someone forgot to tell him that he was getting an award and his wife might like to attend. Lame. I'm pretty proud of him though, it's a very prestigious award.

Cookie Lee Convention

Image
In August I went to my fifth Cookie Lee jewelry convention in Anaheim, CA. It was so fun! They unveiled the new catalog , had fashion shows, and lots of great training. My sister Jessica came with me and after 3 years of working on her, she finally decided to join Cookie Lee! She's gonna be great. This is my new Mercedes Benz...ok, not yet. But believe you me, someday I will be driving a free Mercedes Benz around. Won't I look hot? I got to walk across stage and high-five Cookie because I reached $10,000 sales. That's a lot of jewelry I've sold! I'm holding up my name badge with the $10,000 pin I earned. Here's Jessica, one of my favorite sisters. We spent a little extra time down in Southern California so we could hang out and have sister bonding time. We went shopping at Downtown Disney, went hot-tubbing, and waited for hours for imaginary busses. Good times.

The Face of Monterey

Image
The Monterey Public Library has a bookmobile that travels around and brings books to the masses. They are getting a brand new truck and they wanted a picture of a young businessman on the side of it so guess who they chose. Hank! This is him at his photo shoot. Now his face will be driving around Monterey for the next 10 years. Yeah, my husband's pretty cool. :)
